Perhaps her bikini had some sort of power over the judges in the first round of auditions, but without it - Bikini girl Katrina Darrell crashed and burned at the "American Idol" auditions in Hollywood.

The format was a bit different this year - the contestants were divided into small groups, given time to prepare an ensemble performance and then put before the judges.

Darrell's group gave a lackluster performance.  And Darrell's excuse for the poor singing and cheesy stage persona? High heels fatigue.

She claimed she was so tired from standing around all day in high heels that she was unable to stay awake to rehearse with her team. Only one out of the four contestants in her group advanced to he next round.

And to add insult to her teammates' injuries - she blew them off by refusing to join the group hug saying all the "fake girl" stuff just wasn't her thing.

Ouch!

Meanwhile, "Idol's" other bikini girl - real-life calendar model Casey Carlson - pushed through to the next round.

"Idol" will narrow the field to a group of 36 semifinalists next week.

From the group of 104 singers in Wednesday night's performance, 75 advanced to the next round of the popular Fox show, now in its eigth season.

Among other notables cut from the crowd were the confrontational Nancy Wilson, Austin Sisneros, Rose Flack, Deanna Brown and David Osmond, the son of the eldest singing Osmond brother.
