Michael Jackson Dead at 50! Demerol Injection May Have Caused Michael's Death

Michael Jackson Dead at 50! Demerol Injection May Have Caused Michael's Death

While the cause of Michael Jackson's death remains unknown, there are two things we're certain of: he had doctors visit him daily, and he was on a lot of prescription medication.
Brian Oxman, who has served as the Jackson family attorney for more than 20 year, suspects that abuse of prescription drugs may have led to Jackson's death. "I don't know what caused Michael's death, and I don't want to speculate as to what the causes are," Oxmon tells Us Weekly. "I only know that I warned them there was the misuse of prescription medications by people who were enabling him; his handlers, folks who should never have been permitted to allow him to use those medications in the manner I observed." "He had cracked a vertebrae in his back and he took painkillers to try to ease the pain," he says. "And now we find ourselves here. I don't know if the two are connected. I had warned that the misuse of medications would result in this, and I am heartbroken that we are here."
TMZ is reporting that Michael was given a heavy dose of morphine prior to his death, which may have caused him to overdose on the medication.  Meanwhile, the UK Sun claims he overdosed on Demerol, a drug similar to morphine.
An autopsy is scheduled Friday afternoon, but the results won't be available until next week. Los Angeles County Coroner Investigator Jerry McKibben said if a cause can be determined by the autopsy, they will announce the results.
Fans continue to mourn for the loss of one of the biggest entertainers in the world. Thousands of fans have bombarded Michael's star on Hollywood Blvd leaving notes, gifts and flowers. Such a tragic loss!
