Paris Hilton Heads to Miami Court to Defend Herself

Paris Hilton showed up to court in Miami this afternoon to fight the most recent allegations against her. Paris is being sued by film investors who claim she failed to promote the DVD release of her 2006 film Pledge This. We have to admit, we had never even have heard of it until this lawsuit came about! Talk about a good publicity stunt!

Paris is being sued for $8 million dollars for not trying to promote the movie. She had allegedly signed a contract stating that she would do the usual rounds of PR.

We're a little surprised by Paris, since she'll promote anything she has going on at the drop of a hat! Hilton and her attorneys claim she went the extra mile to plug the movie, which played in just 25 theaters and made only about $2.9 million worldwide, according to court documents.

Paris defends herself, saying, "Any chance I got, any red carpet, any press, if I was doing something for another product, even if I wasn't asked about it, I would just bring it up."

The investors, however, contend that she rejected numerous TV talk shows and wouldn't do several radio or magazine interviews to promote the movie despite a contract requiring her to do so.

Paris. who was paid $1 million to "act" in the movie, says she never was paid a promised $125,000 bonus. Paris is expected to testify tomorrow in the three-day bench trial before U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno.
